Technical Manager

You will be the first point of contact for all things technical at GLP UK and part of the Global GLP Technical Team.

You will be part of a small team so being able to work independently to ever shifting priorities is key. All training can be provided, being the right fit within the team is most important.

The role will suit someone who has worked in a similar role before and is confident preparing, maintaining, testing lighting equipment. Experience fault finding electronic devices useful but not essential. This is a fast paced role but requires someone with good attention to detail and who is able to work to a high standard.

Responsibilities:

  • Testing new products
  • Prepping and de-prepping demo equipment
  • Answering telephone/email inquiries and assisting clients with repairs, technical questions, and spare part requests
  • Educating clients on how to use and maintain their products
  • Diagnose problems and come up with solutions to repair them
  • Manage spare parts stock
  • Build and maintain relationships with customers
  • Assisting with tradeshow coordination

Requirements:

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and diagnostic skills
  • Working knowledge of moving lights
  • Driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Willingness to travel to customer sites
  • Previous experience within the lighting or electrical industry
  • Ability to effectively manage own time and that of any team members
  • Be organised and able to juggle multiple projects
  • Technical qualifications would be an advantage, however, not essential

Details of employment:

  • Salary £28,000 - £35,000
  • Monday to Friday 09:00 - 17:00. Permanent position
  • Based at GLP UK Warehouse Redhill, Gatwick
  • 25 days holidays, plus bank holidays
