YPOC 700 and impression celebrate first division promotion

TSG 1899 Hoffenheim celebrated the end of its brief sojourn in the second division of the German Bundesliga on the 18th May with a huge promotion party. After coasting for much of the way, the team finished the season in second place behind Borussia Mönchengladbach and just ahead of 1. FC Köln. The top three teams qualify automatically for promotion to the first division.

Around 6,000 supporters followed the last match of the 2007/08 season on two giant screens in Hall 6 of the Sinsheim trade fair centre, as Hoffenheim ended the season in style with a 5:0 victory over SpVgg Greuther Fürth. After the match, the players and training squad joined the party in Hall 6 along with the club’s patron Dieter Hopp. By this time, the attendance had swollen to around 8,000 and a band was playing live.

Responsible for the entire production including the lighting, sound reinforcement, video and stage equipment was the events service provider Charly’s Checkpoint GmbH of Dettenheim. Apart from the live images of the match, all the entertainment in Hall 6 was performed live, with 50 GLP impression and 14 GLP Ypoc 700 luminaires greatly enhancing the spectacle.

“With the YPOC 700, we have for the first time a genuine alternative to offer customers,” says Christian Moran of Charly’s Checkpoint. “It is extremely reliable with all the features a 700-watt lamp needs at a really sensible price. As for the impression, what more is there to say? It’s an absolute gem!”
